Q: What is your policy regarding ages for residential campers?
A: Due to a new University of Georgia policy, an age restriction has been enacted that will prohibit campers who have not turned 12 PRIOR to Sept.1 of the current camp year from staying in the dorms during residential camps. This policy does not have any effect on our Day Camp.
Q: My son/daughter is 11 but plays on a team of 12-year-olds that will be attending camp. Can he/she stay in the dorms with the team?
A: No. A camper must be 12 years-old before Sept. 1 to stay in the dorms.
Q: What is the difference between Residential Sessions I and II vs. Elite?
A. At session I and II campers follow a curriculum that involves all aspects of soccer, and caters to players from beginner to advanced levels. There will be some turnover in staff coaches from one session to the next, but the curriculum will remain more or less unchanged. The elite camp will be more towards players who are interested in playing at the next level and are high school ages. The camp has more position specific training and some information to better prepare themselves to get into a college and playing at the college level.
Q: Can I get a scholarship to attend camp?
A. NCAA rules prohibit us from offering scholarships to camp sessions.
Q: Can teams attend any of the three residential camp sessions?
A. Yes. Teams that sign up for any of the three camp sessions will work with the same coach throughout the week. Please be aware that teams signing up with less than fourteen (14) field players will have individual campers added to their group to make up the numbers for training purposes and the evening games. We recommend that the team COACH or TRAINER contact us at 706-425-3139 for more information regarding the team camp curriculum.
Q: I’m registering as part of a TEAM. How do I coordinate it so my group of players gets to be on the same team and stay on the same hallway?
A. Select ONE team parent to coordinate with Hallie Blasen via email with the list of campers on your team. Sooner is better but don’t panic. We understand that groups are subject to change and that’s fine. We can make adjustments going into the final week before camp.
Q: How are Team Discounts handled?
A. To qualify for the disount you must have a minimum of 10 players. Please contact Hallie Blasen at email@example.com or 706-425-3139 to set up bringing a team to camp
Q. Do you offer a sibling discount?
A: Yes. When a camper registers at full price, each of that camper’s siblings will receive a $30 discount. The sibling discount is NOT available to cousins or other extended family members and cannot be combined with the team discount.
Q: Can I confirm my roommate?
A: We don’t assign roommates to rooms until 4-5 days before the start of a camp. If you choose a roommate during the registration process, we don’t alter or edit your request. This means that if you call to confirm your roommate before rooms have been assigned, all we can do is confirm the name of the person you submitted as your roommate request. So if you requested Pat Smith, all we can do is tell you that you requested Pat Smith. We very rarely have a roommate assignment problem. When we do, it’s usually because Camper A chooses Camper B, but Camper B has chosen Camper C. It is best to confirm with your friend that you are both choosing one another as a roommate request. If there is a roommate discrepancy, we will contact you. Otherwise you can assume that the person you requested as a roommate will be your roommate.
Q. How do I pay my balance on-line? When is final payment due?
A. You can log-in to your online account to complete your payment. Final payment for all camps are due 1 WEEK before the camp starts. Click on the words Pay Balance to login to account.
Q: Can I pay in installments?
A: We are set up to take 3 payment amounts: (1) Full payment; or (2) deposit and then (3) the entirety of the remaining balance. We cannot accept payments outside of these amounts. If you submit a deposit, your next payment must be for the entire amount of the outstanding balance. Please make sure that your payment fits into one of these categories or it cannot be processed.
Q: What is the biggest difference between Day Camp and Residential Camp?
A: Day camps do not offer campers the chance to spend the night. Campers report for camp in the morning and go home at the end of the camp day. Residential camps offer campers the chance to stay overnight in the dorms. You can also register for the residential camps as a commuter. Commuters arrive in the morning and go home after the evening matches.
Q: What is a commuter?
A: A commuter is a camper who is registered for a residential camp but elects not to stay overnight. Commuters arrive in the mornings and go home after the evening matches. Commuters are provided lunch and dinner but not breakfast.
Q: What time shall I drop off and pick up my COMMUTER camper for camp?
A. Commuter campers must be dropped off at the dorm by 8:15 A.M. All commuter campers should be picked up at their appropriate field after the evening session (usually around 8:15 pm, but please double-check). A camp staff member will be on location to see commuters off at the end of their day. Please be aware that on the first day of camp ALL RESIDENTIAL AND COMMUTER CAMPERS MUST CHECK IN at EAST CAMPUS VILLAGE BETWEEN 11 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. on the first day of camp.
Q: What dorm will the campers be staying in?
A: East Campus Village. We are thrilled to be staying in one of the nicest dormitories in the country, conveniently located next to the East Campus Dining Hall and the intramural soccer fields. The physical address is 395 River Rd., Athens, GA. Get off the US 10 Loop at College Station Rd., then head north. Immediately get into the right lane and look for signs.
Q: How many residential campers are there to a room?
A. In the East Campus Village, each room houses two people and has a bathroom.
Q: My team has an odd number of people signing up; can we put three people to a room?
A: Unfortunately the UGA FIRE CODE prevents us from assigning more than two campers to a room. An individual camper of the same age, or close in age will be assigned as a roommate for the odd-one-out, and we will put the rooms next to each other. All campers signing up as a team will be housed in rooms adjacent to each other, or across the hall.
Q: How are players grouped/separated for training in the Residential camps?
A: First by gender (boys and girls are separated for training and matches), then by age.
Q. Where are the Georgia Soccer Camps held?
A. The Residential Camps and Day Camps are held at the Turner Soccer Complex, Georgia’s primary game field. Sessions are also conducted on the main Georgia campus at the UGA Rec fields and at the UGA club fields on Milledge Ave., 3/4 mile south of the Turner Soccer Center (on the left as you head south away from the Loop.)
Q: Are your fields grass or turf?
A: Grass. Every one of them is grass.
Q. Can parents watch the field sessions?
A. Parents are invited to watch any of our training sessions and the evening matches. We ask that you do your best to stay "invisible." Please do not enter the field at any point unless you are invited to by a staff member. And please, NO COACHING from the sideline.
Q. Who are the coaches at the Georgia Soccer Camp?
A. University of Georgia Head Coach Billy Lesesne and assistant coaches Brian Moore and Katie Ely oversee the camps and are actively involved in the day-to-day training of the campers. Many of the Georgia Bulldog players also serve as coaches. In addition, we are committed to bringing in some of the finest college and club coaches in the country.
Q: Where / when is check-in and check-out?
A: Check-in for Residential Camps is from 11 A.M.- 1:30 P.M. on the opening day of camp at the East Campus Village. On the final day of camp our goal is to have everyone off the field by 10:45 A.M. and back to the dorms by 11 A.M. for check-out.
Q: Is there a closing ceremony?
A: Yes. On the final morning of camp we hold a brief closing ceremony at 10:30 A.M. Parents are welcome (but not required) to attend.
Q. How do I get in touch with my child at overnight camp? Can I leave a message for my child while he/she is at camp?
A. You can leave a message for your camper on the camp office phone which is 706-425-3139. For after hour calls there will be a 24 hour number provided at check in.
Q. Will my child need bed linens and toiletries?
A. Yes! All campers will need a pillow and bed linens/comforter for a twin bed, size 80"x36". You will also need to send toiletries and towels with your camper.
Q. Will my child be supervised in the dorm?
A. Yes! Counselors are assigned to every hallway. The camp staff (including administrators, coaches, and counselors) will be housed in the dorm. The dorm also has its own security staff. Everyone must show identification (or camp wristbands) when entering the building. Note that campers are separated by gender.
Q. What about roommate requests?
A. We welcome roommate requests and can almost always accommodate those requests, but we cannot guarantee them. Roommate requests must correspond to each other. Rooming assignments are done a few days prior to the start of a session. It is recommended that roommates register within a few days of one another. Don’t wait too long though, as your session may get sold out.
Q: Will my team get to stay together in the dorms?
A: We are almost always able to keep teams together on the same hallway. The earlier your group registers, the better chance we have of accommodating this request.
Q. Is there a penalty for a lost room key during camp?
A. There is a $50 fee for a key and $10 for the access card.
Q. How much spending money should I send with my camper?
A. Campers have the ability to shop for snacks, pizza, and our camp store with UGA soccer gear is available throughout camp. We recommend campers bring no more than $100.00. Although meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are covered through registration fees, most campers want a snack or pizza after the evening session and may want to shop at the camp store for t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. PLEASE make sure your camper has some singles to spend on vending as we aren’t always equipped to make change for big bills.
Q. Will the rooms have refrigerators?
A. No. The rooms are not equipped with refrigerators, but you are welcome to bring a small, dormitory style fridge.
Q. Is there ice in the dorms?
A. Yes, but there is not enough for every camper to fill up their water bottles every morning. We suggest you bring a cooler if your camper would like ice in their water bottles.
Q: Is there a laundry facility?
A. Yes. There is a pay laundry service in the dorms. We recommend you bring your own detergent as we cannot guarantee that it will be available otherwise.
Q: Are parents/adults permitted on the dorm floors?
A. Parents/Guardians/Relatives are allowed onto the residential floors of the dorms during check-in and check-out only. Once camp is in session, only campers and coaches are permitted on the floors and into the rooms.
Q: Can I sleep in my camper’s room?
A. NO, NO, NO!
Q. How will the campers get from the dorm to the field?
A. Campers will either walk to the Intramural Fields or take a short bus ride from the dorm to Turner Sports Complex. Note that counselors and coaches accompany the campers to/from the field.
Q. Does the camp provide airport transportation?
Q. What are the refund procedures?
A. The initial deposit of $100.00 is non-refundable but can be rolled over into another camp. There are no refunds of any camp fees once the first day of camp has arrived. There are NO REFUNDS for no-shows.
Q. Are refunds available for sessions cancelled due to weather?
A. No. We will always do our best to get the campers outside and on the field. We will not issue refunds for sessions cancelled due to inclement weather and other "Acts of God."
Q. Can I pay a deposit to hold my camper’s spot?
A. Yes! An initial deposit of $100 will hold your camper’s spot. From there you can pay the balance whenever you would like as long as full payment is received 7 days prior to the camp start date.
Q. Do I really need a physician’s signature on these forms?
A. Yes! The forms do require a physician’s signature. If your camper has had a physical in the last 12 months from the actual camp dates, you can just submit that. If we do not have your camper’s medical forms on file, your camper will not be allowed to participate in camp activities. This is a University of Georgia mandate, not simply a camp rule.
Q: Where should I send the medical forms?
A. If you registered online, you can download and upload your forms through your online account. TO UPLOAD THE FORMS, IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE PAGE YOU MUST UPLOAD AS A SINGLE FILE. YOU CAN NOT UPLOAD MULTIPLE PAGES SEPARATELY FOR THE PHYSICAL FOR INSTANCE. PLEASE SCAN THE PAGES TOGETHER, SAVE TO YOUR DESKTOP AND UPLOAD TO THE SITE. YOU MAY JUST TAKE A PICTURE OF A SINGLE PAGE WITH YOUR PHONE AND UPLOAD.
Q: How to upload my forms once I log back into my account?
A: Customers can click on the Download Form button to obtain the necessary paperwork, and then click the Upload Form button to submit the form. Please read above about how to ensure each form is uploaded properly.
Q: When are camp forms due?
A. We request that you send in your medical forms at least one week prior to check-in if at all possible to speed up the check-in process.
Q: When do the Residential Camps end?
A. On the last morning of all Residential Camps, our goal is to have the campers off the fields by 10:45 A.M. and back to the dorms by 11 A.M. for check-out.

Q: What should I pack for camp?
The dorms are air conditioned but you are permitted to bring a small electric fan. Campers are also permitted to bring a small, dorm-sized fridge.
Q: What shouldn’t I pack for camp?
A: Don’t bring anything you can’t afford to lose. Leave your jewelry and expensive electronics at home. We accept no responsibility for anything that gets lost, stolen or damaged during your time at camp. Also, don’t bring any noisemakers / musical instruments.
Q: What is the refund policy?
A: We do not offer refunds for camp, unless there is a medical reason as to why your child cannot participate in camp or other circumstances beyond your control. We do NOT refund the $100 deposit no matter what, but the $100 can used later as a deposit for another camp.
One last word of advice: Please know that your child will be very busy during these few days of camp and may not call every free moment they have. Please do not panic because they may just be tired or hanging out with new friends. Your child's safety is our # 1 priority at camp and we will ensure their safety. We realize this may be some campers first time away from home but we promise they will be cared for.
